The Business Systems Lead ensures the organisation’s portfolio of business-critical systems delivers maximum value to colleagues, supports outstanding care, and enables operational excellence.
Acting as the vital bridge between operational teams, software suppliers, and the IT & Data function, you will own the lifecycle of key applications to ensure they remain effective, secure, and aligned with business priorities. Rather than simply maintaining software, you will champion innovation, user adoption, and continuous operational improvement.
As a standalone specialist initially, you will also design, build, and establish a scalable Business Systems function—including governance, support processes, and super-user networks—to support the organisation as it grows.

- Value Realization: Ensure all business-critical systems remain secure, compliant, fit for purpose, and deliver measurable operational value.
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Strategic Collaboration: Build trusted relationships with operational leaders, managers, and subject matter experts to understand their daily challenges.
- Process Transformation: Map operational workflows to identify where technology can directly improve quality of care, colleague experience, and process efficiency.
- Change Advocacy: Act as a translator and champion between technical IT teams and non-technical operational staff to ensure business needs drive technology decisions.
Function Design & Scaling (Future State)
- Operating Model: Architect and implement a scalable Business Systems support and governance framework from the ground up.
- Super-User Networks: Establish, train, and nurture a cross-departmental network of super-users to drive decentralized application support and high user adoption.
- Continuous Improvement: Create standardized processes for capturing, prioritizing, and delivering system enhancements and feature requests.
